My name is Abdulhamid Abdalla and I am a physiology alumni from the University of Alberta and hope to pursue medical studies. Some of my hobbies include, learning new skills and mentoring youth.
As a Somali-Canadian immigrant, I have witnessed the tragic dynamic of gun violence afflicting our Somali and other black youth in Alberta. I have unfortunately seen many youth struggle in school and turn to a harmful lifestyle. It was this experience that given me a deep gratitude appreciation of the positive influences I have received in life and encouraged me to pay it forward by spearheading a mentorship program within my community.
